Writing

Kristen’s poem, “Helpless” was published in the book Nature’s Voices.

Kristen’s first memoir, tentatively titled “The Best Worst Thing” is based on her unique journey through grief and personal transformation after the unexpected death of her husband, Todd. Kristen tragically lost her husband of a heart attack in his sleep at the age of thirty-one, and was left alone to care for their then nine-month-old daughter. Using a unique blend of humor, reflection and self-examination, Kristen’s memoir describes how her relationship with Todd continues to evolve despite his physical absence and how this event has transformed her view of the world and the way she lives her life.

Kristen writes for the website, Examiner.com, an online resource for information from cities across the country. She is the Minneapolis Health & Happiness writer focusing her weekly articles on topics that enhance people's lives.
